I was sailing along on me bicycle and my front tire hit a patch of streaming wet pavement coming round a nice s-curve. I skidded out, almost recovered, and then bit it. The pavement was beautiful smooth black asphalt, springy and reminiscent of dark pine forests. I hardly left any skin behind, though I suppose had it been less smooth and forgiving on me, I would have been less likely to take the spill in the first place.
